I love the idea of mixing two disparate mediums like metal and thread. The designer, Corina Rietveld, is Dutch and the entire site is in Dutch as well, which makes things tricky, but I was still taken with her work.

My kitchen obsession continues. These were posted over at the ever-impressive Desire to Inspire. Love the use of color in photo (1); the half wood, half steel table in (2) is very cool; and I just love the back door and the clean look of all white in pic (3).
Yet another article on the lack of color on high fashion runways. Bottom line: stop buying from designers who don’t want us.

I must admit I haven’t been in Club Monaco in forever, but a recent trip to the mall lead me in their door and reminded me that not only is this store great for funky basics (tees, sweaters, shirts), but also has great bags and coats. I really liked the sleeveless; drop back, turtleneck sweater (so sexy!), the slouchy trousers, and the leather messenger bag.

I love everything on Etsy site, UrbanKnit, especially this funky little neckwarmer. There are several other adorable color combos and lots of other cute scarves and bags.
With parents who are travel fanatics it was inevitable that our son would have an interest in faraway places. To accommodate his fascination I’ve been looking for a globe for his bedroom and found this vintage one, at three potato four, that will also act as a night light.
Found at Etsy shop, JDavisStudio, these rings are totally cute…
Robin Givhan, fashion editor of the Washington Post, penned an excellent article on the 2008 Milan fashions shows’ lack of models of color. The same lily-white runways at New York’s Spring 2008 Fashion Week have been adopted across the pond. The biggest designer offenders in Milan were Prada, Jil Sander, Calvin Klein, and Marni. I’ll say it again, if we’re not good enough to walk their runways then maybe we’ll no longer spend our collective millions on their goods…
Article excerpt: The spring 2008 fashion shows, which ended Friday in Milan and continue this week in Paris, went off as usual, with a mob of breathless editors and retailers surging through the streets of the Italian fashion capital in search of the next new thing. The models were the typical young thoroughbreds, some of them still in their gawky teenage years and not yet at ease with the striking features that have propelled them into the spotlight.
And, as usual, models of color were an uncommon sight.
